So You Want to Start a Business?
What’s stopping you?
There are many reasons why people who want to start in business DON’T, including: fear of failure, lack of knowledge or skills, lack of money, lack of time. Whatever the reasons, we can help you overcome them. Or, if you HAVE started a business, but you may feel that you need some direction, we can help you with that too.
Why I, Tony Inman, can help you…
I left college at eighteen with no idea at all of what I wanted to do, so I took a summer holiday job, washing and delivering hire cars by day, while in the evenings I tended the bar in my parents’ hotel. I soon found myself climbing the Corporate Ladder of a supermarket chain in Jersey, one of the English Channel Islands – it was a climb that seemed endless but in actual fact was pretty rapid. I moved to Perth, Western Australia because I felt there would be greater opportunity here, but pretty soon found myself in another management job with too much month at the end of the money.
I really wanted to start my own business, but I had no idea what to do or how to start.
I’ll save the rest of my story for another time, but when the right opportunity finally came along and it was the right time for me to take action, I grabbed it. Since then, through good times and bad times, I have owned and operated at least 21 businesses.
“Today, I can now tell you, having done it many times, that starting up a business, like just about anything else, can be broken down into a system or a process.
That will make it easier and less daunting to someone starting out, but more importantly, it will greatly increase your chances of success.”
