Strategic Business Plan

Stage One of Your Strategic Business Plan – Your Values, Purpose, Vision and Mission Statements

Improve and grow your business with Club Red coaching - with an effective vision, mission and strategic plan

It all starts with an idea – a vision of what might be

Why is this so important? A key point to remember about today’s business world is that we are surrounded and impacted daily by constant change.

It was only in 1943 that the Chairman of IBM famously declared that nobody would ever buy, or have a use for, a personal computer (PC). That fixed viewpoint, proven with hindsight to have been a major misjudgement, could easily have caused the collapse of their business.

“I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.” – Thomas Watson, President of IBM, 1943

He wasn’t alone though…

“There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home.”

Ken Olsen, founder of Digital Equipment Corporation, 1977

As a management consultant or business consultant, Tony Inman can help with your business planning so your business grow to the next level

A good plan sets you on a defined course

Even in 1995, the power of change was still being under-estimated – this guy invented Ethernet, yet listen to what he said…

“Almost all of the many predictions now being made about 1996 hinge on the Internet’s continuing exponential growth. But I predict the Internet will soon go spectacularly supernova and in 1996 catastrophically collapse.” – Robert Metcalfe, founder of 3com, 1995

Stage Two Offer – A Full Strategic Business Plan

Your Strategic Business Plan is a very important thing that most small business owners don’t even bother doing. They may lack the writing or forecasting skills; they usually don’t think they have the time; and often they can’t see the point. Even if they do write one during the research or start-up phase of their business, they rarely revisit it for a review.

Most coaches will tell you that it’s good practice to regularly review your business plan – ideally every six months at least, but in practice it should become a working reference document to which you can refer, so you can stay on track.

A strategic business plan enables you to crystalise your thoughts and ideas; to capture them for ongoing reference; to analyse your performance as your business goes through change; plus, it is usually required by any money-lenders if you need financial investment or borrowings to grow your business or buy plant or equipment.

Here’s what we include:

David Payne gives a testimonial for coach Tony Inman

David Payne

“Tony has helped me define our company’s purpose, values, vision and mission.

We are now growing our business to the next level with even greater clarity and cohesion.

I think that where he adds the most value is when he comes in and helps owners define what it is that they find hard to, or do not have the time to, articulate.

I am definitely happy. ”

David Payne – CEO, The Accounting Department, North Perth WA
